Writing breaks are necessary…
Especially when everyone gets the plague.
We had a wonderful vacation during the Thanksgiving holiday and returned home to succumb to the plague. The hubs spent several days isolating in the master suite since he was the only one to test positive for The Illness Which Shall Not Be Named. The teen was mostly over his previous cold and went to school all week, while youngling and I lazed about watching movies and feeling really miserable. We tested ourselves a few times since we were dramatically dying. Alas, whatever normal junk is going around knocked us down for longer than we wished. The hubs returned to work eventually, youngling returned to school, fatigue and a cough decided to keep me company long after all other symptoms abated, and then the teen was promptly ill again with another unknown virus. Fingers crossed we don’t keep going in circles like this.
Needless to say, writing has not been a high priority lately. I haven’t edited Land of Monsters since November 21st. Prepping for vacation and caring for myself & my fellow plague victims has taken all of my energy. I could barely even read during this time. [Yes, you read that correctly. I barely even read.]
I’m trying to rally and get back on track, but with the holidays fast approaching… sometimes writing breaks are necessary. January could be a fresh start!
Happy Holidays!
