About

Beth Green – Reader, Writer, Library Page

I was born, raised, educated, and still live in Illinois. Over the years, the “What do you do for a living?” question has had a few answers, but one thing remained constant in my work life. One life goal kept popping up at leadership seminars: write a fantasy novel.

I stepped away from a decade-long job in higher education in order to be a full-time parent at home, and once the kids were both in school all day, I decided it was time to meet that life goal.

Instead of picking up the half-finished manuscript from my college days, I started fresh and haven’t stopped writing for more than a few days since.

After almost fourteen years of focusing on home, family, and local volunteering, I started a part-time position as a library page in a nearby community and I love going to a place full of books a few days a week for “work.”

My husband and two sons are enormously supportive of my need to read and write words during my free time. I am a lucky gal. (Thanks guys!) While sadly, my first canine writing assistant (a constant companion when I wrote, either stretched across my feet or ‘helpfully’ putting his paws or snout on my laptop keys) has passed away, my new canine assistant is always near at hand for emotional support as I write.

I hope the magical worlds of my mind spark the imagination of others.
