Thanksgiving…

Should last throughout the year.

I try to approach each day with a spirit of gratitude and thanksgiving. Do I always meet that goal? Heck no! But I try. I absolutely say “thank you” dozens of times a day to everyone I come across no matter how big or small their action was. I want to make sure strangers and loved ones alike know how much I appreciate them.

This year I am first and foremost grateful for my husband and two sons who support my reader, writer, full-time mom life. There is nowhere I’d rather be. I love this precious time I have with my children and that their school hours allow me to devote time to my writing.

I am thankful that everyone close to me is generally in good health. Many of us have our issues, but they are minor, manageable, and not life-threatening.

Despite the political turmoil and loss of liberty in this country recently, I am thankful that I still have a lot of safety, privilege, advantage, and freedom compared to many places in the world.

I am thankful for the growth I have made over the past few years through the support of my friends and family, my writing group, and the connections I’ve made with other readers and writers through social media.

As we all press on through the holiday season, I aim to focus on thankfulness and not get sucked into the stress. This is a time for peace, love, compassion, and generosity.

Happy Holidays to all!
