Thankfully, I still love my first novel…

So it’s time to take the next step.

I spent the past two weeks reading Seeds of Power one more time. I moved some commas and changed a few phrases. That’s it. And yes, I enjoyed reading it! I remember the scenes I’ve cut over the years—some I really liked and some that I’ll be happy to never read again—and I’m glad that this draft feels like the best version of Mae’s story that I could tell.

Now I’m working on editing my query letter. I know I’m going to feel vulnerable once I put myself out there and seek representation, but I have to take a step forward. I’m proud of this book. If I don’t get an interested agent, or if I do but this book doesn’t sell, I’m still going to be proud of all the work I put into it. I love these characters and the adventure they took me on.

I’m happy to be back on track this month, dedicating time each week (if not daily) to my writing goals.
