Spring is in the air…
So it’s time to reset my mental health.
I’m walking outside more instead of on the treadmill. With winter cold behind me, I can enjoy the benefits of the outdoors. (When it’s not raining.) The fresh air rejuvenates my spirit and gets more creative ideas flowing.
I’m writing some random short scenes that will never be published just to get them out of my head and make room for new ideas. I’m still working through my edits on my core projects, but I’m not setting tough goals right now.
I grabbed a big stack of library books I simply wanted to read instead of planning out ARCs and reviews. Don’t get me wrong, I love reading and reviewing for authors, but I needed a short break to make sure it didn’t turn into work. I’ll get back to my gifted books soon.
I let myself watch tv in bed a few nights when I was tired and didn’t feel like reading (shocker).
I finally opened up a jigsaw puzzle I got for Christmas. When I finished it, I did my favorite bookish puzzle again. This is another nice activity that lets me think creatively about writing while my hands are busy with something else.
Self-care is different for everyone, but it’s important to listen to your body and mind, and take action. I’m going to try to keep this going. Wish me luck!
