Quarterly Reading Update…
A fantastic start to the year!
I read 84 books from January to March! This is mainly due to 46 being audiobooks—way more than usual, mostly due to mood. I was mentally tired this winter and found myself wanting to listen to romcoms while working on a jigsaw puzzle or playing a game on my phone instead of reading a physical book or ebook. I’m proud of this change, as one of my reading goals this year is to listen to my moods more than following my TBR list.
I’ve had 10 5-star reads so far, and I read 8 ARCs, several from fav authors, which was an absolute treat! I read 17 ebooks specifically for my Kindle Crush reading challenge, a combination of recent purchases, giveaways, and old freebies. I’m hoping to crush more ebooks in Q2. My two book clubs continue to be very enjoyable—even when the books are not. In my monthly wrap-ups on bookstagram, I have been including the books I started but didn’t finish, and I had 22 DNFs this quarter. As I clean up freebies in my kindle library and try audio versions for some SFF books that have been on my TBR for a while, I am finding I am quitting more than last year. I’m happy to try things and check them off the list if they aren’t for me, though. I’m looking forward to diving into more incredible books this year!
