Endings…
Create space for new beginnings.
The school year has ended and summer vacation has begun! My teenager is a high school graduate and headed to college this fall. Youngling has left elementary school behind and will start middle school. My husband opens his new veterinary practice this July, making a lifelong dream come true. I finished a book and sent it around for beta readers, then started a new novel I’m really having fun with.
This has been a year of multiple endings and new beginnings. It’s been a journey filled with exciting adventures, a little fear of the unknown, some heartache, and lots of gratitude and joy.
I have attempted to be present each day as we achieve milestones and make memories. I’ve reminded myself to focus on what is in front of me and to not stress about small things, while allowing some time to reflect on the past and the future.
Even as my eyes get misty during some of these endings, I have excitement and hope for the new beginnings. I’m hoping this summer to find a balance between activity, rest, and writing.
