This new writing project…

Is happening in fits and starts.

I wrote four solid chapters on my new project Shadow Walker (working title) and was excited to write more last week. I only managed one more chapter, though, for several reasons. The hubs was out of town so the full parenting load was on my plate. Youngling got braces, which required some attention/support for routine changes and some TLC because he was sore for a few days. There were more events than usual at the elementary and high schools to attend or volunteer at. I was also exhausted and sore because I increased the resistance/weight used for the physical therapy exercises I’ve been doing (to correct a herniated disc and nerve infringement).

So, this new project is happening in fits and starts. Oh well! Life happens and writing has to take a backseat sometimes.

This contemporary fantasy tale is about a witch and a werewolf who work together to find a kidnapped witch. In this world, the supernaturals live in peace with each other and humans, but they don’t interact much. This means my main characters accidentally insult each other sometimes and struggle to blend their routines together.

I wrote a few flashbacks/dreams in other POVs in my Dreamcatcher series, but all four books are mainly written from one character’s POV—as are all my other books. This is the first book I’m writing consistently as dual POV and it is so much fun to figure out who should tell which parts of the tale. I’m still fleshing these characters out and tightening up plot details, but I already can’t wait to introduce beta readers to Raven and Dell!
