Time to celebrate…
And shift gears.
Hurrah! I did it! I went through the entire four-book Dreamcatcher series and mapped out the chapters—what happens, what is accomplished for the whole story or for character development, log wordcount and break up long chapters, etc. I smoothed things out and edited small things here and there. When I got to book three I did a big rewrite, moving the main reveal closer to the beginning where it belonged and restructuring everything that came after to make sense with the new timeline. Book four had a plotline that discussed some topics I didn’t intentionally explore, so I just finished rewriting some details to get rid of the “too far” bits but keep the core story.
I am so happy! It’s done… for now. I’ll put it away for a bit and come back to it in a few months for another read through. Meanwhile, my writing group is working through the second half of book one. We submit a chapter at a time, so I’ll still be dabbling in Dreamcatcher for many months to come.
Now, I get to shift gears and return to Red Hour. This standalone novel was starting to really come together last time I wrote new connecting scenes. I’m excited to get creative and write new content after so much editing. There is something about this story that feels special and there is huge hole in the middle I need to fill. So, here I go…
That is a great milestone! I am happy for you and so proud of all the progress you are making and the perseverance to make this dream a reality!
