Momentum…
Can spark creativity.
Thankfully, I have been able to sustain my writing habits and I finished restructuring Dreamkeeper (Dreamcatcher book 3). Yay! I’m going to put it away for several months, so that when I read it again, I will have fresh perspective. This draft works much better than the last one, but I’m not sure it’s where it needs to be yet.
I have moved on to chapter mapping Dreammaster (book 4 and conclusion to the Dreamcatcher series) and am rewriting some plot details that I was not comfortable with when I originally finished this series.
In book one, I created plot points that are good and necessary, but they led me down a rabbit hole in book four that I never intended to go. I explored very sensitive and complex topics but when I was finished I honestly didn’t feel compelled to discuss those things. So on and off this past year, I have brainstormed how to eliminate these situations and topics without completely rewriting the entire 4th book. I believe I have found a solution that will keep the core of the story I wrote, but allows me to scale back the impact and end game. I hope to feel more confident about this new version.
Wish me luck!
