Winter Blues…
Are affecting my writing goals.
The Midwest was hit with snow and low temps, resulting in a couple days of remote learning for my kids. The canine writing assistants were so cold that they snuggled into me, leaving nowhere to put my laptop. Darn. I just had to read books and cuddle my pups. Rough life, I know.
Seriously though, the winter weather has affected my work routines. Since the puppy gets lost in the backyard snow and is easily distracted, I had to walk him down the block four-six times a day in subzero temps with ridiculous wind chill. Once we got back inside, I headed for coffee and blankets—and when the pups settled on me, I honestly didn’t want to move them.
During the last two weeks, I managed to complete some organizational work for my reading/writing life, as well as some PTA commitments. I did send some more queries out—yay!—and have been staying on track with my writing group submissions for Dreamcatcher. I began chapter mapping Dreamkeeper (book 3) and restructuring some reveals, so I am trying to focus on those positives.
Hopefully, little by little, I will shift my focus to more writing/editing time most days.
Stay warm and safe!
