Should I cut this chapter…

If I’m asking, the answer is likely YES!

My writers’ group is still beta reading the last several chapters of Land of Monsters. After I finished my edits last month, there was still a section toward the end I wasn’t completely happy with.

So there I was, preparing the next chapter for submission and writing a question at the bottom that was basically “is this necessary or slowing down the plot?” The fact that I asked meant the answer was probably yes.

Yeah, I didn’t submit that chapter. I deleted all but two pages of it and rewrote some things to tie it together with the next chapter. Then I continued to cut a few more sections that were unnecessary to get it to a better pace and length. It feels good to cut confidently like this.
