Reflections…

And excitement!

It’s been two years since my first blog post about my writing journey. Sure, my goals have fluctuated—at times I’ve taken leaps forward and at other times I’ve been stuck in the mire. But after reflecting on the past two years, I am proud of my overall progress. With the help of my writing group, beta readers, and other authors that I’ve connected with on social media, I have worked hard on my writing skills and habits.

I now have three clean manuscripts and a synopsis for each that I feel really happy with. I feel ready and excited to show them to prospective agents. That was the biggest goal I had: to feel like I had done everything I could possibly do to position myself and my work before sending out that first query letter.

After all the rewrites, restructuring, and editing editing editing, I am really happy with the current drafts of my new adult fantasy novel Seeds of Power (Bonds of Magic series), its sequel Land of Monsters, as well as Dreamcatcher, book one in a completely drafted 4-book adult fantasy series. (I’m toying with the idea of calling Dreamcatcher a fantasy romance series. Stay tuned!)

So now what?

  • Get back to my agent research so I can send some query letters!
  • Dive back into my partially-drafted standalone new adult fantasy novel Red Hour.
  • Start to outline book three of the Bonds of Magic series.

I am so excited!!!
